First of all, we would like to thank you for always showing your support for RADWIMPS.
Unfortunately, we must hereby announce that the drummer, Satoshi Yamaguchi, will be going into an indefinite break due to his chronic disease.
Satoshi Yamaguchi first suffered a nervous disease called focal dystonia in 2009. This is a disease rarely developed by person with occupation requiring hard training.
Musician is a very delicate profession which sometimes require repetitive complex and high speed movements. As a result of continuous and extremely intense practice, it is believed that the brain sends incorrect information from stress and nervousness which cause affected part of the body to respond in unintended ways.
Ever since, he has been fighting the disease while continuing his band activities; however, he has come to the conclusion that he has reached the limit and can no longer continue. When Satoshi confessed his decision to the band and staffs, we all desperately searched for ways to continue the band with him, but at the end, we, though regretfully, had to respect and accept his decision.
RADWIMPS will continue its band activity with remaining 3 members; Yojiro Noda, Akira Kuwahara and Yusuke Takeda.
We deeply apologize for bringing this unexpected news to the fans on our 10th anniversary year and in such a short notice before their “RADWIMPS 2015 Asia-Europe Live Tour” and “10th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR RADWIMPS no Taiban”.
The band will have a support drummer for the upcoming tours and will be putting on the shows as originally planned and announced.
We would like to ask you for your continuous support for RADWIMPS.
